A More Organized Score Library in Flat for Education, Now with Search

As music teachers create more scores, assignments, and learning materials over time, staying organized becomes increasingly important. Whether you are planning lessons, preparing performances, or reusing materials from previous years, being able to quickly locate your work makes a real difference in daily teaching.

To better support this, we are introducing an updated Score Library experience in Flat for Education. This release combines a redesigned Score Library page built for education with new search functionality, making it easier for teachers to organize, find, and reuse their scores.

A Redesigned Score Library Built for Education

The Score Library page has been fully redesigned to better match how teachers work in educational environments.

The new design includes:

  • A modern and structured layout tailored to education needs
  • Clearer naming rules to help keep libraries consistent and easy to navigate
  • Updated navigation that improves movement between scores, assignments, and other areas of Flat for Education
  • A unified homepage that aligns with the rest of the platform

This updated layout reuses a responsive design across devices, while providing a stronger desktop experience for lesson planning and content management.

Introducing Search in the Score Library

For the first time, Flat for Education now includes a search directly within the Score Library.

Teachers can now:

  • Search for scores by title or keywords
  • Quickly locate specific materials as libraries grow
  • Spend less time browsing and more time teaching

Why This Update Matters for Music Teachers

As Score Libraries grow, browsing alone is no longer enough. Many teachers reuse scores across:

  • Multiple classes and grade levels
  • Different assignment types
  • Concert preparation and assessment
  • Year-to-year curriculum planning

By introducing search and improving library organization, teachers can access materials more efficiently and reuse proven resources with greater confidence.

Laying the Foundation for Better Content Discovery

This update also marks the first step toward broader content discovery in Flat for Education.

When no results are found in your Score Library, the platform can now begin guiding teachers toward relevant content elsewhere. This sets the foundation for future improvements that will better connect the Score Library and Assignment Library.

Our long-term goal is to help teachers discover, reuse, and build on content more easily, without adding complexity.

What This Means for Your Daily Workflow

With the redesigned Score Library and the introduction of search, teachers benefit from:

  • Clearer organization as content grows
  • Faster access to existing scores
  • A more consistent navigation experience
  • More time focused on teaching and creativity

Small improvements like these support smoother workflows and more efficient planning.
