Building the Future of Flat: An Update to the Lifetime Plan

At Flat, our goal has always been simple — to make music creation intuitive, accessible, and inspiring for everyone. Over the years, we’ve continued to evolve Flat Power to offer more powerful tools and a smoother experience for composers, educators, and students around the world.

With the rollout of our new editor version, we’ve made major steps forward in performance, design, and usability. This release marks the foundation for what’s coming next — a faster, more flexible, and more powerful Flat for every musician.

To ensure we can continue making significant investments in Flat’s development over the coming years, we’re updating the price of our Flat Power Lifetime plan.

What’s changing

Starting November 10th, the price of the Lifetime plan will increase from $199 to $299 (one-time payment).

If you already own a Lifetime plan, nothing changes — you’ll keep your access forever.

Until November 10th, you can still purchase Flat Power Lifetime for $199 and secure permanent access to all current and future features.


Looking ahead: what’s next for Flat

Over the past year, we’ve made important updates that laid the groundwork for what’s coming next — improving the performance, stability, and flexibility of both the editor and playback engine.

These upgrades have already made Flat faster, smoother, and more expressive — but they also open the door to a new generation of features we’re actively developing:

  • Mobile editor rework: A complete overhaul of the mobile editor for better performance, improved touch interactions, and a cleaner layout that brings forward powerful but underused features.
  • New modes and layout settings: We’re reintroducing several existing modes to make them more accessible and easier to use. These improvements will give you more ways to view, arrange, and work with your scores, adding flexibility in how you compose, teach, or perform.
  • Ongoing stability improvements: Continued work on the reliability of both the editor and playback engine, ensuring a smoother and more consistent creative experience.
  • Fine engraving tools: As stability and performance reach new levels, we’ll be able to introduce advanced engraving options to give your scores even more precision and polish.

All of these developments are aimed at one goal: creating a faster, more powerful, and more inspiring Flat — one that grows with you.
