What Is LTI 1.3 and Why It Matters
LTI (Learning Tools Interoperability) is an open standard that allows education tools like Flat for Education to integrate directly with LMS platforms such as Canvas, Moodle, and Schoology.
The newest version, LTI 1.3, introduces modern authentication (OAuth 2.0 and JWT) and better control for administrators.
For schools, that translates into:

Teacher-level setup access is no longer available for either LTI 1.1 or LTI 1.3 integrations. This change ensures every integration follows the same security standards, reducing technical issues and protecting user data.
Having a single, centralized connection between the LMS and Flat for Education makes management easier for districts and IT teams while ensuring compliance with student-privacy regulations such as COPPA, FERPA, and GDPR.
