This season, Flat for Education is on the road: eight music education conferences from Austin to Tokyo, October 2026 through February 2027. Come find us, bring the classroom problem that's been nagging you all year, and leave with something you can use on Monday. Below is the full schedule, our session times at each music education conference, and how to join the teachers already shaping Flat for Education from the inside through our Ambassador Program.

Whether you stop by a booth or sit in on a session, bring a real classroom problem: the score that's hard for beginners to read, the assignment you keep rebuilding, or the lesson you wish more teachers knew. That's the conversation we're there for, and it's how we learn where Flat for Education helps and where your classroom still needs something better.

Conference schedule and sessions

Come meet the team, we'd love to talk. Find your conference below, check our session times, and stop by to work through a real classroom question together.

TFAA 2026, Austin, Texas

October 19–21, 2026

The Texas Fine Arts Administrators conference brings together the leaders who think across campuses, budgets, and staffing, not one classroom at a time. Our session, Building Strong Music Programs in Texas Together (Tue Oct 20, 10:00 AM), looks at the hardest part of that job: giving teachers tools they'll actually use while keeping a district's music program manageable and consistent from school to school. If you shape music education at the district level, this is where to start the conversation.

AMIS 2026, Tokyo, Japan

October 31 – November 1, 2026 (pre-conference Oct 30)

At the Association for Music in International Schools conference in Tokyo, the conversation crosses countries as well as classrooms. We have two sessions, both on Saturday, October 31:

  • UDLing Elementary Music Education (11:30 AM), on applying Universal Design for Learning so every young student can access notation and perform, whatever their reading level.
  • Borderless Music Composition (4:30 PM), on how students compose, hear, and share work together across schools and school systems.

If you teach band, orchestra, choir, or general music in an international setting, bring the realities of your school system and we'll talk through how Flat for Education fits them.

NYSSMA 2026, Rochester, New York

December 3–6, 2026

The New York State School Music Association Winter Conference is where pedagogy and technology meet. We have two sessions:

  • The Pedagogy Behind the Platform: Making Tech Matter (Thu Dec 3, 2:15 PM), on using notation software to teach, not just to engrave.
  • What District Leaders Wish Every Music Director Knew (Sat Dec 5, 10:45 AM), on the priorities that shape adoption and budgets above the classroom.

Come tell us what your students need when a score is too dense, an assignment is hard to adapt, or a part is missing.

The Midwest Clinic 2026, Chicago, Illinois

December 16–18, 2026

One of the largest band and orchestra gatherings in the world, the Midwest Clinic is the place to bring a real score. Visit us at our booth and we'll walk through how you prepare parts, adjust notation for different readers, or turn a full score into practice material your students can use. A score you actually work with makes for a far better conversation than a polished sample.

CASMEC 2027, Sacramento, California

January 13–17, 2027

The California All-State Music Education Conference draws teachers from every corner of the discipline, which is exactly the mix our session is built for. Every Learner in the Room: Rehearsal Design That Works for All Students (Thu Jan 14, 11:00 AM) covers practical rehearsal design that reaches beginners and advanced players in the same room, with ideas that cross between elementary music, ensembles, jazz, choir, and composition.

Michigan Music Conference 2027, Grand Rapids, Michigan

January 21–23, 2027

Find us at our booth to talk about how music technology fits a real school day. We want to hear about the workflow that saves you time in rehearsal, preparation, and feedback, and the one that still takes too many steps. Bring the part of your week you'd most like to get back.

OMEA 2027, Columbus, Ohio

January 28–30, 2027

The Ohio Music Education Association Professional Development Conference is one of our busiest stops, with three sessions:

  • What District Leaders Wish Every Music Director Knew (Thu Jan 28, 12:30 PM), on the leadership view of music tech adoption.
  • Beyond the Score: Using Notation Software as a Complete Instructional Design Platform (Thu Jan 28, 2:00 PM), on building whole lessons and assessments around notation, not just notation itself.
  • Intensify Good Teaching: Inclusive Rehearsal Strategies for Every Learner (Fri Jan 29, 9:30 AM), on reaching every student in an ensemble.

TMEA 2027, San Antonio, Texas

February 10–13, 2027

The Texas Music Educators Association Clinic/Convention is one of the largest gatherings of music educators anywhere, and a highlight of our season. Join Beyond the Score: Notation Software as a Teaching Tool (Wed Feb 10, 11:15 AM) to see how notation software supports instruction, assessment, and student practice. Whether you teach one section or coordinate many schools, bring a classroom question, an idea to share, or a score to rethink, and find us at our booth between sessions.

Can't make it to a conference? Become an ambassador

You don't have to be in the room to shape what Flat for Education becomes. Here's what that looks like for one teacher already doing it:

"Flat for Education replaced paper, red pens, and standalone notation tools in my classroom: students write, hear, and share work in real time, I can turn a PDF into a score in under a minute, and even the quarter-tone hymns I grew up with finally have a place on the page."

Anton Boktor, Flat for Education ambassador

Our Ambassador Program is now welcoming a cohort of current K–12 music educators. You can teach general music, band, choir, composition, or another discipline, and you can already use Flat for Education or be just getting started. What matters is that you enjoy creating and sharing classroom ideas, giving candid feedback, and helping other teachers learn from your experience.

Ambassadors have their lessons shared with teachers worldwide, co-host webinars, and get a public profile that highlights their work, plus early access to new features and support for local or sponsored presentations at music education events. Your personal referral link gives fellow teachers 50% off a teacher license and 30% off school and district licenses.

You don't need a finished proposal to start. If you have a lesson that worked or a classroom problem you solved in a way other teachers could use, apply to become an ambassador. It takes about two minutes, and the team reviews applications every week and replies to everyone.
